Friction and wear

Friction Tests are conducted to measure the resistance offered by one surface, as the other surface slides over it.

Wear or Abrasion tests determine the loss of material due to rubbing of two surfaces and are important properties with respect to durability of the material.

Wear and friction are closely interrelated.
